Our commitment

Making wellness information, resources, and support easier to navigate includes making our digital experiences accessible. Just Ask Pearl aims to provide experiences that as many people as reasonably possible can use, including people who use assistive technologies or alternative ways to navigate the web.

Accessibility practices

We aim to apply recognized accessibility practices as we design and maintain this website. Practices include readable typography; appropriate text and background contrast; keyboard-accessible navigation; visible focus states; alternative text for meaningful images; labeled forms; a logical heading structure; descriptive links and buttons; mobile-friendly interactions and touch targets; captions or transcripts for important video content where applicable; avoiding unnecessary flashing or rapidly moving content; not relying only on color to convey meaning; and supporting reasonable text resizing.

The current website includes visible keyboard focus styles, a keyboard-operable welcome dialog, responsive layouts, and descriptive text alternatives for its meaningful hero image. The landing page signup and contact form provide visible labels, keyboard focus states, and privacy links. These implementation details are not a substitute for a full accessibility audit.

Accessibility standard

Where technically feasible, we aim to follow recognized accessibility practices, including applicable Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) guidance and practices toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We have not completed an independent accessibility evaluation and do not claim that the entire website conforms to WCAG 2.2 AA.

Ongoing improvement

Accessibility is ongoing work. As Just Ask Pearl grows, we intend to review and improve the website and digital experiences, address barriers that are brought to our attention, and consider accessibility in new content and features.
